Benefits of Membership

SCC members enjoy a wide variety of benefits, both as part of the national organization as well as our local chapter. Here are a few:

Journal - Membership includes subscription to the Journal of Cosmetic Science, the Official Journal of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists. The Journal contains technical papers on topics of interest to cosmetic scientists and is distributed six times per year. Members have access to all past and present journals at jornal.scconline.org.

Meetings & Seminars - The Society holds its Annual Scientific Meeting each December and its Annual Scientific Seminar each May/June. The Meetings and Seminars provide a forum for an exchange of current findings and technology on topics of global interest in cosmetic science. Additionally, the Midwest Chapter holds Dinner & Education Meetings six times a year as well as a yearly Technical Symposium and social events. Members receive discounted registration fees for all events and access to member-only events. New members in our chapter also receive one free admission to a Dinner & Education Meeting.

Continuing Education Programs - Our CEP courses are one day classes taught by practicing cosmetic scientists and perfumers, all acknowledged experts in their disciplines. Members enjoy discounted course fees.

Group Insurance Program - We have group plans for Life Insurance, Disability Income, High Limited Accident, and more.

IFSCC - The Society of Cosmetic Chemists is one of 45 member organizations within the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists. SCC members receive a subscription to IFSCC Magazine, which includes technical papers and IFSCC news.

SCCoop - Our Midwest Chapter newsletter mails eight times a year to members and includes information about upcoming events, chapter and national SCC news, as well as employment opportunities within the cosmetic industry.

Scholarships - Members and their family enjoy special scholarship opportunities through the Midwest Chapter.

Career Advancement - In addition to the countless networking opportunities, the Society offers job assistance and other benefits to unemployed members. The National Office also maintains a Resume Bank for its members. If you are seeking a position you can send your resume to the National Office and they will help distribute it for you.
