Description
The Midwest SCC is again holding a Fall Technical Symposium. The 2009 event will be held at the Westin Chicago Northwest on Tuesday, October 27th. This location is centrally located, 12 miles from O’Hare airport and with easy expressway access to all parts Chicago. This year’s theme is “Natural? Green? Sustainable? Fact versus Fiction from a Formulator Perspective.” Registration, sponsorship and additional information can be found at www.midwestscc.org.
The symposium has been an annual event for the Midwest Chapter for over many years, and had over 100 participants each of the past two years. The speakers and topics are chosen based on participant feedback – with a different theme each year. The goal is diversity in the speaker balance – and we have ranged from ingredient suppliers to academics to industry publishers to consumer marketers to industry analysts. This year’s theme was chosen based on the continued strong consumer drive around the idea of “green.” The speakers and topics being pursued are guaranteed to allow formulators to dig deeper into what “green” means and how to meet various “green” definitions as viewed by the consumer and by various agencies (government, industry groups, consumer groups, etc).
